Library Media Center
The Library Media Center supports the faculty, staff, students, and families of Grace Baptist Academy with access to information resources, technological tools, and recreational reading materials. In addition to print materials such as books, magazines, and newspapers, the library media center provides access to many subscription online resources. Most of these resources and our library catalog are available for use on campus in one of our two on campus library locations and at home. The LMC staff is available for assistance with book selection, research, projects, printing, and more. The library media center houses a full classroom set of laptop computers for student use. In addition, research classes frequently utilize the LMC's projector for lessons or presentations. Grace Baptist Academy employs the Accelerated Reader program to encourage reading practice and growth in the elementary school. The A.R. program has more than 100,000 quizzes (AR BookFinder), and parents can monitor their student's progress through A.R. Home Connect. In addition, the LMC provides recreational reading for all reading levels, with thousands of fiction titles across all genres. We also promote reading as a lifelong skill by hosting two Scholastic Book Fairs each year, which allow families to support the LMC while expanding their child's classroom library and their own book collections.
