Jonathan & Michelle Hill / Class of '91

Michelle attended UTC and graduated with a degree in accounting. She worked as a Senior Cost Accountant for10 years before taking time off to start a family.  

Returning to the workforce, she joined the staff at Brainerd Baptist Church over 15 years ago where she currently serves as their Finance Administrator.


In 1993, she married her high school sweetheart and fellow '91 alumnus.  She and Jonathan have three girls - Julianna ('19), Victoria ('21) and McKenna ("23).  Their family enjoys spending time together camping, traveling and going on vacation with friends. 

Michelle had this to say about Grace: "From the first time I visited Grace, I knew I had found my home. There was a sense of community between the students, parents and faculty that I had never experienced before. Grace was a place of growth for me both personally and spiritually.  When people ask me what Grace means to me, the answer is always the same; Grace is family."

Jonathan attended Cedarville University and later Chattanooga State. He fulfilled a prophecy of Coach Mattheiss' by marrying his high school sweetheart Michelle Ross Hill. 

Jonathan has enjoyed a 30-year career in mechanical & plumbing design, engineering, consulting and construction.  The last ten years he has served as a Vice President with iCON Air & Mechanical Services.

Jonathan is also a deacon and has served in a number of ministries at Brainerd Baptist Church. 

On his 30th anniversary as a graduate of Grace Baptist Academy Jonathan says, “I am very thankful for the privilege to have attended and have my daughters attend a school that strives to put Christ first in all it does. Thank you Grace Academy past and present faculty and staff for continuing to run the race and fight the good fight, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Carrie Cooper Knecht / Class of '96

After graduating from Bryan College, Carrie returned to Grace Academy as a teacher in the fall of 2000.  Over the last 21 years, she has taught several different grades and many amazing students.

Carrie says, "I have seen firsthand the impact of Grace Academy upon my life , the lives of my three children, and the lives of hundreds of students.  


 I am also grateful to be a part of the student ministry at Bayside Baptist Church where my husband Terry is the student minister.  Together, we are thankful for the opportunities God has given us to impact the lives of students.

Taylor Leigh Walker / Class of '01 

Taylor is currently the Practice Manager at Greater Chattanooga Orthodontics. She previously worked at Grace Academy as the Admissions Director and still enjoys being involved in Grace activities such as helping with the Spring musical. When Taylor is not working, she is spending time with her friends or listening to true crime podcasts. 


Michaela Estill Rychener / Class of '06

After graduation, Michaela attended Toccoa Falls College where she graduated with a BS in Early Childhood and a minor in Theological and Biblical Studies.  In 2015, she received her Masters of Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University.  

Michaela and Jon, her husband of 11 years, have 3 children.  Michaela taught in the classroom for 6 years before accepting a position in elementary administration. 


Now in her sixth year as the assistant principal at Hickory Grove Elementary School in Dunlap, IL.  Michaela was recently recognized as the ‘Administrator of the Year’ in her school district. Michaela says that, “Grace was where it all began and I'm forever grateful for the positive impact it made on my life.” 

Jessie Anne Compton / Class of '11

Jessie Anne attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Music Education.  Still a resident of Knoxville, she teaches K-5 elementary music at Northshore Elementary School.  Since 2013 Jessie Anne has also been actively involved with the non-profit organization the Joy of Music School where she teaches voice, piano, directs the children's choir and online music classes. 


Jessie Anne's passion is building an elementary musical theatre program that promotes community and leadership skills among students and staff who participate in the program. Jessie Anne was recognized by her peers at Northshore Elementary School and received the Teacher of the Year award from her school during the 2020-2021 school year. 

She is actively involved at Shoreline Church in Knoxville, Tennessee where she serves as a high school girls student leader. Jessie Anne is proud to be a graduate of Grace Academy and hopes to pass on the love and commitment so many teachers invested in her during her career at Grace.

Erin Cooke / Class of '16

Erin attended the University of Georgia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2019. During her last year at UGA, Erin accepted a role overseeing the state of Georgia for Charlie Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA. Erin started over 30 chapters at colleges and universities across the state and hosted large speaking events at state universities.  Since then, she has accepted a managerial role overseeing the entire southeast region for TPUSA. 


She is now the manager of the east coast operations for Turning Point Faith and has recently moved to Nashville, where she oversees a team of six representatives spanning from Georgia to Maine. 

The mission of Turning Point Faith is to activate the faith community to be civically engaged, by empowering pastors and equipping their congregations to take action. Erin hopes this program will encourage the "American Church" to take itself off the sidelines in the civic sphere in order to shape the trajectory of our Nation by putting God back at its center."

Michael Salley / Class of '90

Since graduating from Grace Baptist Academy in 1990, Michael attended UTC and graduated with a degree in Business Finance.  He and Cristy were married in 1998 and have lived in East Ridge ever since.  Michael is the president of two companies: WTS Media, a CD and DVD manufacturing company and Gig City Press, a custom t-shirt and apparel company.

Michael and Cristy’s TikTok famous son, Eli, graduated from Grace in 2019 and attends UTC.  Abby graduates from Grace this year and Emmy is a Sophomore.

Michael says that his greatest success was helping to lead each his 3 children to Christ and then baptizing all of them in the summer of 2015.  He states further that, “Grace has been a big part of our lives and we are grateful for the friendships we have developed with both the staff and fellow parents over the years as our children have attended the school.”


Chris Kellogg / Class of '95

After graduating from Grace in 1995, Chris immediately entered the workforce. There he found an aptitude in construction trades, particularly the flooring industry. In 2002, Chris married Shannon, the love of his life, and together started an independent sales and marketing company in the wood flooring industry. Through their company's development, Chris has been able to travel the world and help to facilitate and train salespeople and flooring distributors up and down the East Coast.

Chris enjoys spending time with Shannon and their two children Simon and Lauren as well as tackling various projects around their mini-homestead in Bradley County.

Chris and Shannon express their gratitude for the tremendous amount of time, effort, and energy that has been spent by both the teachers and administration in an effort to make in-person schooling possible for all of the Grace student body. "Your sacrifices and love for the entire student body speaks volumes about your Christian character; it is a shining example for every student."


Shane Frazier / Class of '00

Shane graduated from Grace in 2000. He went on to play baseball at Tennessee Wesleyan and studied Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. Married in 2003, he and wife Arynne moved to New Orleans, LA. where Shane pursued a fishing guide business. Evacuating for Hurricane Katrina, they moved back to Chattanooga permanently. Arynne, 3 months pregnant at the time, told Shane he had to get a real job.

Shane and Arynne are the proud parents of three children; Ty (14), Brooks (12), and Gia (9). Shane is the President of Klear Digital, a marketing agency he co-founded in 2011. Away from  work, you will find Shane spending time with family, on the boat fishing, or coaching baseball.


Rebecca Beers / Class of '05

After graduating from Grace in 2005, Rebecca attended David Lipscomb University where she graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  After internships that included the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Rebecca worked for several years in Mechanical Engineering.  Her most recent position has been with World Financial Group. 

Rebecca and husband, Ben, moved back to Cleveland at the beginning of this year. She says, “This is certainly a season of family in my life which has been wonderful. Being back, I am able to live around much of my family and we have recently started a family of our own. Ben and I had our first baby this past August - Josiah Samuel Beers. I am thoroughly enjoying being his mommy and I count it a huge blessing that I have the privilege of staying home and enjoying this precious time with him.”


Colby Jacocks / Class of '10

A 2010 alumnus of Grace, Colby attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  He graduated from UTC with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Colby currently works at Denso Manufacturing, Athens TN.,  in the Production Engineering department. 

Colby and his wife Stephanie were married in 2018.  They have a two-year-old girl named Hazel and Henry, their 2 month-old little boy.



Zach Dean/Class of '15

Zach graduated from Grace Academy in 2015. He then attended  Covenant College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. Zach is now pursuing a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He also interns at Concord Presbyterian Church where he leads the youth group. His wife Jéssika is currently pursuing her doctorate degree, a Ph.d. in Physical Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis.

Amy Smith  / Class of '89

A proud member of Grace Academy’s first graduating class, Amy went on to earn her degree in Early Childhood Education.  After a number of years teaching in the Grace Children’s Center, Amy moved into the business world and currently works as the operations manager of Eastgate Town Center.  Amy can often be seen at school events cheering on her niece and nephew.  Always active with the Alumni, Amy played a major role in 30-year reunion of the Class of ’89 this past July.


Mandy Moore Long / Class of '94

The first 1000 pt. scorer in Grace basketball history, Mandy went to Hiwassee College where she was an All-Conference and All-Region softball player.  After transferring to Lee University, she pursued her education degree and continued her outstanding athletic career, finishing as the MVP her senior year.  Mandy has taught in our Kindergarten for 20 years and coached, volleyball, basketball and softball at in both the Middle School and High School. She and her husband Mike have three children, Maggie (Class of ’18), senior Megan and sophomore Mason. 


Lt. Col. Peter Euler / Class of '99

A former Golden Eagle basketball and soccer player, Col. Euler was a member of the United States Air Force Academy Class of 2003 where he graduated in the top 100 of his class of almost 1000 cadets while majoring in Electrical Engineering and minoring in both Russian and Math. Currently posted near Venice, Italy, Peter and his wife Laura have three boys and one girl.


Drew Daugherty  /  Class of '09

Another former Golden Eagle basketball and soccer player, Drew earned a degree in Social Studies from UTC.  For the last five years he has taught History at East Ridge High School, where the words of former Grace history teacher Jerry Castleberry, “Do Right” are posted above his classroom doorway.  

Drew and his wife Laura have one girl and three boys. Drew is also a football official for both the Southern Conference and the Ohio Valley Conference.


Jefferson Walker  /  Class of '09

A former Golden Eagle football player, Jefferson attended UTC after his graduation from Grace Academy. There he earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. After giving his life to Christ in October of 2012, he spent his final college years working at an urban youth sports camp,Kids Across America.  

Since then, Jefferson has undertaken a mission and lifestyle to live out the Great Commission. He has had the opportunity to teach and train disciples on four overseas trips and has also ministered at West Tennessee State Penitentiary. Jefferson is currently the program director for a youth development organization called JIFF, that provides services for juvenile offenders in the Memphis area.
