Jonathan Hill
After high school Jonathan went to college Cedarville University and later Chattanooga State. Most importantly, however, he fulfilled a prophecy of Coach Mattheiss' and married his high school sweetheart Michelle Ross Hill (so far that's going pretty well).
A month before our wedding God provided me with a job as a draftsman for a local engineering firm "Campbell's & Associates" which was the beginning of my nearly 30 years in mechanical & plumbing design, engineering, consulting and construction.
After six years at the engineering firm where I gained valuable experience and training I was given the opportunity to join a company that combined engineering and construction into what is known as design build. McKenney's Mechanical in Chattanooga became my new work home for the next twelve years and proved to be a very valuable experience in the mechanical design build industry.
During this time Michelle and I were blessed with three amazing girls that have all attended and graduated from Grace except for MaKenna who is a junior this year. Our family also was drawn to Brainerd Baptist church and over the years I have been blessed to be involved in the ministry of there by working in the children's department, AWANA, Men's ministry, becoming a deacon, going on overseas mission trips and currently involved with the student ministry at Brainerd.
The last ten years of my career has been with a firm started by a small group of co-workers and that business is called iCON Air & Mechanical Services where I serve as Vice President of construction & design build services where God has blessed this business.
This year is my 30th anniversary as a graduate of Grace Baptist Academy and I am very thankful for the privilege to have attended and have my daughters attend a school that strives to put Christ first in all it does.
Thank you, Grace Academy past and present faculty and staff, for continuing to run the race and fight the good fight, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Michelle Hill
Since graduating from Grace in 1991, Michelle attended UTC and graduated with a degree in Accounting. Michelle worked as a Senior Cost Accountant for 10 years before taking some time off to start a family. When returning to the workforce, she felt the Lord leading her towards ministry. As a result, she joined the staff at Brainerd Baptist Church over 15 years ago where she currently serves as their Finance Administrator.
In 1993 she married her high school sweetheart and fellow ’91 alumnus, Jonathan. She and Jonathan have three girls – Julianna class of 2019, Victoria class of 2021 and MaKenna who is a Junior. Their family enjoys spending time together camping, traveling, and going on vacation with friends.
Michelle has this to say about Grace, “From the first time I visited Grace, I knew I had found my home. There was a sense of community between the students, parents, and faculty that I had never experienced before. Grace was a place of growth for me both personally and spiritually. When other people ask me what Grace means to me. The answer is always the same. Grace is family.”
