Dramatic Arts

For many years the students of Grace Academy excelled in both Dramatic Arts and Musical performances. In 2014 these two disciplines combined for our first spring musical, The Wizard of Oz. This success was followed by Beauty and the Beast and the spring musical performance quickly became a much anticipated part of our school calendar year.

One of the most unique and greatly appreciated aspects of these annual performances is that a very large cross-section of our Grace community participates in these undertakings. Casts, orchestra and stage crews are populated from both Upper and Lower Schools, faculty, staff and more.

First introduced as a musical in 1971, “Willy Wonka” is a story about a poor but hopeful boy who seeks one of the five golden tickets that would allow him to tour Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory.

“Willy Wonka”, based on the story by Roald Dahl, is a story of resilience, encouragement, imagination and hope regardless of the circumstances.

Grace Academy’s Fine Arts Department will present “Willy Wonka” as this season’s musical performance at the Colonnade in Ringgold, GA on April 3 & 4, 2025 at 7:00 pm.  Online ticketing information will be available soon.
